Hello and welcome to my class webpage. My name is Charlene Mellon. My husband, Sam, and I have been married for 38 years. We have three wonderful children; Courtney, Kristi, and Christopher. We also have six beautiful grandchildren. My spare time is spent spoiling all of them! 

I graduated from Jacksonville State University in 1992. It was then that I received my undergraduate degree in elementary and early childhood education. I went to work for Calhoun County Schools shortly after graduation. It was after spending some time working with students in the special education population that I realized that I wanted to work with them.

I returned to Jacksonville State University and obtained my master's degree in special education in 2009. I then started teaching special education. My heart has always been to work with the students on the autism spectrum, and I returned once again to pursue a degree in that area. In the summer of 2017 I received my education specialist degree in the area of autism.

I have been working here at Alexandria Middle School since 2016-2017 school year. It is a great place to work and I enjoy it very much!
