Culinary Arts

  • The Culinary Arts Program offers students the opportunity to develop basic skills needed to work within the hospitality industry.

    This course focuses on entrepreneurship through the exploration of various sectors of the hospitality industry such as recreation, travel and tourism, lodging, and restaurant and food services.

    Emphasis is placed on safety and sanitation of the kitchen environment, as well as basic food preparation terminology and techniques.

    Students develop competence in basic knife cuts, garnishing and plating techniques, mathematical calculations, and interpersonal communication needed to be successful in a commercial kitchen atmosphere.

    Leadership development skills and Family Career Community Leaders of America (FCCLA) as an instructional system are integrated parts of the course
